Changing Tides

There have been a few changes going on in my life recently.

  • I have been inducted as a Trustee into my local Eagle’s Arie.
  • I got a promotion/new job at work.

Being a Trustee is going to take a lot of my time. The job usually falls to retirees who can spend a lot of time at the Arie.  The Trustees ,as a group, run the social room and the building. It is a big job, but one I can only give a part of my time. We are in the process of moving into a new building and to be honest the membership has not stepped up to the task. My wife is trying to be understanding, but I can tell it is trying on her.

As for the new job, I have mixed feelings. I love the work I have been doing. It is my passion. I have been working way above my pay grade for quiet some time and have not been selected for promotion within my organization. An organization I truly love being a part of, BTW. However, I have opted to take a promotion in a another office.

So big changes are coming my way. I guess I will have to wait and see how everything shakes out.

Breaking it up a little.

Some of you may remember, I used to blog quite a bit about poker under www.frankwolfe.net a couple of years ago. However, I let the domain fall off. But I am back and I have given it quite a bit of thought of how I was going to do this.

So I am going to start off with 3 separate blogs.

Main blog – This is it. From this soap box you will be exposed to my thoughts, impressions, rants, and raves of a more personal nature. I could preach, though I am normally not the preachy type, about politics,  sports, my family, and what ever is consuming my time at the moment.

Riding the wave – Project management thoughts. It is my profession and I like to express my views from time to time. There is a humorous story behind the title and it will be the first post( sometime in the future.)

On River’s Edge – This is about one of my favorite past time. Poker. Poker I play, news, and an occasional announcement, and maybe even some politics now and then. There will be bad beats stories. Narratives of the great play I am characterized for (just kidding folks). This will most be the most active of my blogs. I blogged about poker extensively a few years ago. I took a break and let my domain name fall dormant, but now I am back.

So all this is new and fresh and will be changing from time to time. I plan on working to interface it with Twitter and Facebook. I am hoping the Facebook integration will make it easy for readers to add comments. So we will see how it works.

Warrior Dash

What have I signed up for?

So I have signed up for my first event of the year, but not the first event I plan on doing.

Warrior Dash is a crazy obstacle course race, being held in Logan, OH on June 4th and 5th.

It is a race, but for me I’ll call it a challenge. There are 14 obstacles on a 2.91 mile course.

  6. Hell’s Hill
  7. Walk the Plank
  8. Warrior Wall
  9. Hay Fever

  13. Warrior Roast
  14. Muddy Mayhem

It looks like good clean fun. NOT!

So far a bunch of guys from my office and a bunch more have signed up for the 10:00 AM start on Sunday. Check it out and come join the fun.

Now I at least have a reason to get my ass back to the gym.

It has been a while, but I am back to the blogging thing. As of now I don’t know what to this will be.

I am sure I’ll talk about poker, project management, politics, and other stuff.
